NEWSMAX: ….[Mayor Michael] Bloomberg and the president agreed that the timing just wasn’t right for a visit and Obama instead will visit New Jersey on Wednesday.
“What I pointed out to him is that we’d love to have him, but we’ve got lots of things to do,” Bloomberg said at a press conference, according to Politico. Bloomberg insisted it wasn’t a snub.
“I’m not trying diss him, but I know he had planned a trip to New Jersey and I said that’s fine, it represents the whole region, people understand the storm,” Bloomberg said. “He’s got a lot of things to do and I was flattered that he offered to come, but I think the thing for him to do is to go to New Jersey and represent the country.”… (more)
