Big news day for Intell New Era

Readers on Saturday, August, encountered a cornucopia of worldwide, national, state and local news, on a level of any newspaper in the country.

The front page was devoted to local coverage of “PAM sues donors”, “Big water rate hike proposed”, Sarah “Palin speech is a hit in Hershey” and “County families still working in Gulf Coast.”

Page two had the important articles “Cuba embraces free-market reforms” and “Scientist crack wheat’s genetic code”, both from the Associated Press.

Page three featured “Economy edges closer to stalling” and “Recession may have sent birth rate to new low”, also from the Associated Press.  Also from the AP was the good news that former president Jimmy Carter had returned from North Korea accompanied by a freed American and the “FDA to insect large egg farms.”

Without reading any further, our sense was we got more than our money’s worth.  We wonder what is left for the Sunday News to talk about!

  1. Two local stories guaranteed to evoke negative reactions from readers, timed to run in the edition that the fewest people read. What a surprise. And now the Sunday edition can ignore them. That’s journalism, alright!

    Get with it, will you?

  2. well….Marv can always sent his cracker jack investigative team out to follow up on the intriging article a few weeks age about massage parlors!!

Seems kind sof hypocritical of LNP to be so ‘high and mighty’ in investigating two oriental health spa establishments, and yet LNP gladly accepts advertising revenue from these type of businesses. Could LNP be accused of ‘pimping’ for them?????
