Alaska Tea Party candidate beaten by write-in candidate?

According to NewsMax.com, “Here’s a breakdown of votes counted in the Alaska Senate race, as of the end of counting Wednesday:

Total number of votes for GOP nominee Joe Miller: 81,195

Total write-in votes to be counted: 92,528

Total counted Wednesday: 19,203

Total counted so far: 19,203

Undisputed votes counted for U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski: 17,134

Challenged ballots counted for Murkowski: 1,629

So far Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski appears to have an unchallenged 89% of the write-in votes.  If that rate continues, she wins 82,558 vs. 81,195 even without attributing  challenged ballots.

It appears that former governor Sarah Palin’s endorsement in her native state of Alaska isn’t sufficient to elect the only Republican on the ballot!  They know Palin best.
