A week before election day, Corbett still trails Wolf in latest poll

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS: Gov. Tom Corbett has gained some ground against Democratic challenger Tom Wolf, but he has a long way to go to convince voters to return him to office next Tuesday, according to a new poll.

The poll, conducted by Franklin & Marshall College’s Center for Opinion Research and released Wednesday morning, shows Wolf with a 13-point lead over Corbett among self-reported likely voters and an 18-point lead among registered voters…

In the September poll, 37 percent of likely voters said they’d vote for Corbett while 57 percent said they’d choose Wolf. A month later, 40 percent of likely voters said they’d vote for Corbett and 53 percent said they’d vote for Wolf. That’s a 7 point gain in a month… (more)

EDITOR: Tom Corbett is reviled by much of Penn State alumnae and by women for “slow walking” Jerry Sandusky which explains Tom Wolf’s huge margin going into election day. Nevertheless, Wolf is unlikely to win by more than 5 points, if that. Voter turn out is light and Republican will hold their noses and pull the big “R” lever.
