A Tom Wolf loss would be stunning, pollsters say

CUMBERLINK: …Wolf is polling so far ahead that a victory by any other Democrat in the May 20 primary election would amount to the most dramatic comeback in Pennsylvania’s modern political history.

“It would be, in my humble judgment, without precedent,” said G. Terry Madonna, a pollster and a professor of public affairs at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster…

So far, three polls in the race have shown Wolf leading by at least 20 percentage points, with the most recent one surveying voters in late April. Overcoming such a large polling deficit is certainly possible, but Madonna and Borick could not recall it ever happening in Pennsylvania in such a short stretch of time… (more)

EDITOR: Wolf benefited from logical candidate Joe Sestak’s decision to again run for senator in 2016, his huge personal investment in early advertisement, and a field of many viable candidates. Like it or not, it appears Wolf will be the Democrat candidate and perhaps the next governor of Pennsylvania.

And by the way, since when has Madonna’s judgments been “humble”? We think “informed” would be a beteter description.

  1. You certainly couldn’t use the term unbiased…… Madonna never saw a Democrat he didn’t love, and he has never seen a Republican he liked.
