A Christmas story from Canada

Having made the annual Halifax pilgrimage to the in-laws and with wife Karen off visiting with her brother, son Benjamin off with his older cousins, and daughter Sarah staying with her aunt and uncle on their horse farm, the Watchdog walked over for lunch to McDonalds,  one of only two open neighborhood downtown restaurants.

Awaiting  his order, he reflected on the business acumen of the franchisee in staying open on Christmas when there was business to be had, rather than closing like all but one other shop along the main downtown street.

Then he noticed an announcement posted at the bottom of the cash register:  “All moneys collected on December 25th will be donated to the Boys and Girls clubs.”

Merry Christmas!
