Zuckerberg attacks pace of surveillance reform

FINANCIAL TIMES: …In a post on the social network, [Mark] Zuckerberg said he had called President Barack Obama to express his “frustration” over the damage the government is creating for “all of our future”. “Unfortunately, it seems like it will take a very long time for true full reform,” he said.

Mr Zuckerberg said it was up to everyone “to build the internet we want”. He said Facebook spent a lot of its energy making the social network secure as trust in the internet today is more important than ever before.

“This is why I’ve been so confused and frustrated by the repeated reports of the behaviour of the US government. When our engineers work tirelessly to improve security, we imagine we’re protecting you against criminals, not our own government,” he said… (more)
