I’ve read a handful of reviews of when China Rules the World. Found this one to be pretty good.

China has seen amazing economic growth but it has lots of weaknesses that will hold it back. One thing not talked about that seems almost inevitable to me is a U.S. attack on China. From a military perspective China correctly sees the U.S.encircling it. Afghanistan is in part about military bases near China. U.S. Navy exercises in the China Sea similarly prepare the U.S. for an attack. I am not predicting an attack any time soon, but at some point when the U.S. decides not to pay its debt (10 to 20 years from now), China they will be turned into an enemy. One thing the U.S.military does well is to bombs countries backward a hundred years. China knows this and is preparing. I don’t see China ruling the world anytime soon.
