SUNDAY NEWS

In his column “Yet still we trickle down”, Gil Smart opines:   “Conservatives Really do believe that further reducing taxes, particularly on those with the biggest piles of money, is a key to creating prosperity…But that view then requires faith in the theory of ‘trickle down.’”

WATCHDOG: In fact, Conservatives are too conservative!   We should eliminate all taxes on those in the top ½ of 1%, families with medium earnings of $28 million a year.  Whether or not they earned their largesse through hard work, inheritance or illegal activities, they benefit the rest of us through their spending and investment of their largesse.

If the federal tax rate at the margin on the rich was an average of say 80% during the ‘50s, ‘60s, and 70s when the real income of the middle class soared, just think how well off everyone will be when our elite have no taxes to pay?

Better yet, let’s actually contribute money to them each year.  That way the middle and working class  (euphemism for poor)  will benefit more from the super rich as they cut the grass at their gated community!

As for the column, three wags of the tail.
