In Letters to Editor, Charles Gordon states: “I have long felt that the best trick the Republican Paraty ever pulled was to make regular, decent, hard working, time-clock-punching, name-on-the-shirt Americans feel that they have more in common with the rich than the poor. A big percentage of those who voted the Republican line this November are only one paycheck or one catastrophic illness away from needing the very programs decried by their party as ‘entitlements’ or ‘unnecessary spending.’”
