SUNDAY NEWS

Under “Quotes of the Week” and from Dr. Holmes Morton, new chair of the Pennsylvania Academy of Music: “We hear people say it’s a great place and they want it to survive. But…that wish is not represented by donations. If the community does not come forward it simply isn’t going to be there.”

WATCHDOG: Did we miss reading about what intentions PAM has for re-locating?

Did a new business plan fail to reach us that describes PAM’s future mission and projects the scope and cost of operations, expenses, and a practical level of expected contributions?

Are the few dozen individuals who contributed around six million dollars supposed to rush down to Prince Street to cover a deficit of $81,000 a month without any information suggesting the Academy will even exist past the end of June?

If the trustees aren’t generating answers to the above, then Morton has switched from his role of doctor to that of undertaker.  First comes sensible proposed solutions; then follow donations! Growl.
