Students walk out and demand local control of schools

By Kevin Zeese

I found this inspiring. . . students fighting for their rights.

Students walked out of high schools today and yesterday in Newark in two amazing days of protest. They were demanding local control of schools and an end to corporatization and privatization of education.

Today, they blockaded a main downtown road for 12 hours, finally ending in a group hug chanting “We believe that we will win.” One mom hugged her daughter expressing pride in her 12 hour street sit-down.

Very impressive. With kids like these, how can we lose!
