Streetcars, Quilt Museum and Convention Center

…Who comes up with these ideas?  Laughable!!  If anyone out there thinks we will EVER see a decrease of our city taxes due to the Convention Center, think again.  For one thing, there is so much money spent for consultants, and planners, architects, and designers not to mention construction and advertising…..all rolled into some hodgepodge of bonds, paybacks, percentages, that a Harvard Business and Economics Professor could not unravel the terms or define the language

I love Lancaster County and have wonderful memories of Lancaster City. It works if it is left to be what it is.  Behind the scenes of the Amish and farm country attractions.  We lived like that for many, many years and had the best of both worlds.

Of course Queen St. is a very sore spot but with thoughtful attention, that could have been corrected.  Just what are the teeming masses going to do in Lancaster, well…..there is Central Market, Heritage Museum, the quilt museum which is a disgrace in its collection of  low to medium quality antique Lancaster County quilts, one playhouse, and a handful of restaurants within walking distance.

Most of the shops are high priced. No movie theatres, no nightclubs with dancing for mature adults.  The third block of Queen is better…with eclectic shopping and reasonably priced restaurants……and that is it!!

I don’t know for sure, but is the home of Thaddeus Stevens a destination? ! We have a huge, hungry convention center and no people to feed it.

Streetcars!!!  Unbelievable!!!!
