U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter, whose job Mr. Sestak would take over if he defeats Republican Pat Toomey, will host a fundraiser Monday at a downtown Philadelphia law firm, the Democratic congressman’s campaign confirmed Thursday.
Democratic Sens. Bob Casey and Charles Schumer are also expected to attend. Mr. Schumer and Mr. Specter, who are Jewish, are expected to promote Mr. Sestak’s record of supporting Israel. A group calling itself the Emergency Committee for Israel questioned Mr. Sestak’s support of Israel in television commercials this summer.
It will be the first time Mr. Specter has joined Mr. Sestak at one of the Democratic congressman’s events…
