Sign of the times: Private, public schools see a shift

“Private schools in the USA, which educate about 5.8 million students, are projected to lose about 174,000 students, or about 3%, by next fall, compared with their 2006 enrollment. Meanwhile, public schools, which educate about 50 million students, are expected to gain about 73,000 students, or about 1.5%….Government projections find that private schools could loose an additional 28,000 students this year, while public schools should gain 246,000.”
