Senate Republicans, Gov. Tom Corbett, restart campaign to loosen Pa. alcohol sale laws

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS: …Gov. Tom Corbett began a series of face-to-face meeting with selected senators on the issue.

And Sen. John Gordner, R-Columbia County — who has been reluctant to support liquor sales expansions in the past — floated a new proposal that tried to address concerns of several Republican holdouts to date.

Gordner’s amendment would permit take-out wine and beer sales in grocery stores and food markets, but that would charge higher permit fees to those wanting to do so… (more)
