SCRANTON TIME-TRIBUNE: Let special investigation proceed

SCRANTON TIMES-TRIBUNE EDITORIAL: …Former Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler has launched the investigation into the distribution of more than 1 million emails.

Deputy Attorney General Bruce Beemer has claimed that there is no legal basis for the independent inquiry and, Tuesday, one of the candidates to replace Ms. Kane called for the independent inquiry to end. Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli, a Democrat running for attorney general, called the inquiry a waste of money and said there are no criminal implications.

Stopping the independent investigation is the worst thing to do. Doing so now simply would raise more suspicion. The best thing to do is see the inquiry to its conclusion… (more)

NEWSLANC EDITOR:   Here is another indication that opinions are changing concerning Attorney General Kathleen Kane. Newspapers like the Philadelphia Inquirer, LNP and the Times-Tribune who early on stridently called for Kane’s resignation have now fallen silent on the issue and are beginning to regain both reporting and editorial balance.

  1. Maybe two separate crimes going on. Both should be investigated. And it does matter now.

  2. Strange that the reporters who claim to have received the information from Kane had worked with the crowd exchanging the emails. Maybe the frame is in?

  3. Beemer should be fired/recalled for insubordination or obstruction of justice.

  4. Law licence suspended speaks volunes to her rocking the “good ole boy” coup that senator jeff piccola straight out said live on tv… “we cant get anything done because of the ‘buddy system/good ole boys.’ “

  5. Should start with the PSU hearings .

  6. End gerrymandering and money, or nothing matters. Our voices are ignored.

  7. “Commie”, “Muslim”, “liberal” – do you have any idea what those three words mean? I don’t think that any Communists were either Muslim or liberal, let alone both. On one hand, you are taking away the American right of “innocent until proven guilty” and on the other you are waving you love of America. You cannot have both. If you take away the first, you are destroying the second.

  8. I’m not suggesting that they stop investigating anyone or anything. I just don’t see her as being all that competent. Not because she is a woman, but by her track record so far. I would challenge you to consider if she were a man, would you justify all the (nonsense) that is going on in the Attorney General’s office?

  9. f she were man in the good old boys club we would never know about the bigoted perverts. Misplaced anger?

  10. It needs played out. Too many people in high places trying to block her. She must of opened a box that no one wanted opened. Those emails are peanuts . Something bigger going on.

  11. We can only hope this whole can of snakes will blow wide open!
