PATRIOT-NEWS: This morning, Rick Santorum will step to a podium in front of the Somerset County Courthouse.
He is expected to talk about his grandfather, an Italian immigrant who worked the Pennsylvania coal mines to create a better life for his family. He will likely discuss the values he was taught and how they shaped his time as one of America’s most outspoken senators.
Then, based on all the heavily dropped hints, he will announce he is running for president. Soon after, he’s scheduled to be on a plane to Iowa for events Tuesday. The campaign will be in New Hampshire on Wednesday… (more)
EDITOR: One positive thing that can be said of Santorum, he has the ‘fire in his belly’ that will carry candidates from defeat after defeat after defeat to victory. That was the case with Arlen Specter.
