[In response to “Portland Streetcars: Fares cover only 6%; Taxpayers subsidize millions annually”, which asserted that “NewsLanc’s research of street car system after streetcar system has either disclosed they were running on special right of ways, they were without charge to the public, or they were losing a ton of money which had to be made up by the taxpayers.”]
The fact that these streetcars can’t support their own operations anywhere else is all that is needed to be said.
Someone from NewsLanc should head on over to city hall and ask to see one of the new “City of Lancaster” themed t-shirts that are for sale. The logo features a streetcar running through a stylized Lancaster streetscape.
Anyone out there really think that this streetcar debacle can be stopped? Rick Gray is already selling streetcar merchandise. What does that tell you?
