“President Barack Obama sought to reassert economic leadership on Thursday by pledging to deliver new ideas every week to create jobs, and he slammed Congress for “bickering” that hurts economic recovery.

WATCHDOG: Having been forced to not to increase government expenditures by the debt limit  settlement, President Obama finds himself hunting without bullets in his rifle.  Henceforth, it is all ‘jaw boning’ about the need to create jobs but no effective government action is possible to spur the economy out of its recession.

We grieve for the bleek future of our  nation’s children.  They face a decade or two of no growth on a per capital basis with the loss of all of the opportunities for a fulfilling life that entails.  Lamentably, this is becoming a consensus projection, nothing that we have ever seen since the Great Depression.  The only salvation would be an overwhelming Democrat landslide in November, 2012 which seems unlikely.

We will only escape  this deep recession and start paying down the national debt when we again achieve near full employment!

  1. Did FDR’s ‘New Deal” bring the country out of the Great Depression???

    No…….WWll did that.

I sure hope we don’t need another major conflict to bring this country back to fuller employment and economic prosperity.

I also don’t think an ‘overwheming Democratic landslide’ will accomplish it either. Obama’s ‘share the wealth’ ideology sounds too much like Karl Marx….is that what this country wants to turn into??? I’m sure there would be a certain segment that would love to be ‘entitled’; and they will undoubtedly vote for a ‘free ride’……they are already too lazy too work, probably can’t/won’t speak english, and may not even be legal residents/natural citizens.
