Report: Fewer in Pa. insured through work

PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE:  Fewer Pennsylvanians are getting their health insurance through an employer compared with a decade ago as the cost of providing coverage has more than doubled, according to a report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  

Those rising costs have been causing employers to drop coverage during the past decade or shift more costs onto employees, who then choose not to be covered, said Andrew Hyman, senior program director at the foundation. ..

Across the state, 67 percent of residents younger than 65 received insurance from an employer in 2010 and 2011, down from 78 percent in 1999 and 2000, according to the report…   (more)
