What we REALLY need RIGHT NOW is the ability for people 55 and over to pay into Medicare IF no other insurance is available. I know far too many people my age and older (I’m 55) who have been laid off, and have been unable to find work for an extended period of time. COBRA is horrendously expensive, in some cases well over $1000 a month.
