[Concerning names rights], Remember that the LCCCA is contractually obligated to hand over half of any money it might receive from naming rights to the Penn Square Partners. Being forced to give away so much of its revenue is one of the reasons the LCCCA has decided to not pursue the sale of naming rights.
The other reason stated by the LCCCA for not selling the naming rights is the fact that the name “Lancaster County Convention Center” has a real value in the marketing of the facility. This name says it all: it is a convention center located in Lancaster County, a distinction that would be lost if the naming rights were to be sold.
