Yesterday on the radio, there was a statement, replayed numerous times on newscasts, from a woman who was supposedly participating in the Occupy Wall Street protests on November 17.
She shouted “if the system doesn’t change, we will smash it!”
This sounds straight out of Central Casting and/or the NYPD. Occupy Wall Street itself is committed to nonviolence, although a whole lot of violence has been used against it by the police in many cities. I heard this woman quoted on NPR newscasts, and also on other stations.
It would be a real public service if you could find out if she was indeed from the NYPD, or possibly from some right-wing organization trying to make Occupy Wall Street look bad.
