‘Occupy Philadelphia’ triples in size; education and actions planned

Occupy Philadelphia is experiencing a surge of marchers and permanent protestors. On Saturday crowds moved though center city in another non-violent action raising awareness for change. Signs were held from 7AM to 2AM with cars honking support nearly at every moment. The base camp community at City Hall has tripled in size during the last week with more than 300 tents now on site. Porta-Pottys have arrived and volunteer sanitation crews have been organized.

Sundays are filled with education seminars. A direction action march to Trader Joes is planned. The General Assembly will continue to discuss overall demands and meeting with the city.

Why: People are expressing their discontent with America’s economic and political elites by participating in a permanent protest at City Hall.
