Pew Survey: Experts Less Concerned About China’s Power Than American Public

NEWSMAX:   … According to the survey, 78 percent of the American public polled think the large amount of U.S. debt held by China is a very serious problem, while 71 percent say loss of jobs to China is serious problem and 61 percent believe the trade deficit is a serious problem.

Still, almost two-thirds of the public view the relations between the United States and China are good, and most consider China a competitor rather than an enemy.

Experts are generally less alarmed about China. Over half (52 percent) of the general public view China’s emergence as a world power as a major threat to the United States, but only 46 percent of retired military and 31 percent of government officials feel that way…  (more)
