Pennsylvania Dutch numbers growing

MORNING CALL:  Once thought to be headed for extinction, they still roam the countryside in Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties in great numbers.

Possessing a distinct sound like no other creature, they seemed to be dwindling in number a decade ago, but there’s apparently no need to put them on the endangered species list just yet.

No, according to the latest U.S. Census numbers, the Pennsylvania Dutch population is not only holding up rather nicely, but it’s apparently growing, particularly in the state where it got its name…  (more)
