1) “This meeting was billed as a legal formality because the original November 9 meeting probably violated the state’s Sunshine Act. What was interesting about that meeting were the discussions (then held privately) that led to the firing and the Spanier resignation. The discussions in those meetings needed to be held openly and that was not done then, and those discussions were not recreated this morning. These meetings are undoubtedly recorded by someone and those November 9 recordings should be made public. So, without those critical discussions available for the public to observe, what makes the meeting today any more “legal” than that original meeting?”

2) “I still don’t understand how you can fire someone for doing what he was supposed to, but maybe not enough?”

3) “There’s more to this story than meets the eye. The real truth is that Paterno made a lot of enemies on the Board Of Trustees, but their hands were tied to do anything against JoePa, because of Paterno’s success on the football field. When the first opportunity came the BOT kick him to the curb.  The Board Of Trustees couldn’t wait to get rid of this power broker (Paterno) who had more respect and clout than they did.”
