PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE: … “It breaks my heart that the public’s view of our court is based on what happens in isolated cases,” [Justice Debra] Todd, a Democrat from Cranberry, told the Tribune-Review in an exclusive interview. “It bothers me greatly. It has been a troubled time for the court.”
The Supreme Court, the oldest appellate court in the country, “is absolutely an institution that’s taken a big hit in its reputation,” said Christopher Borick, a pollster and political scientist with Muhlenberg College.
“Having more than one-third of the justices in legal or ethical problems is pretty damning,” Borick said… (more)
EDITOR: Yet Justice Todd voted with the rest of the court to suspend Attorney General’s law license based on a spurious report from the now discredited Judicial Conduct Board , hobbling the second highest elected official in the state from performing her duties without allowing her a single day in court to defend herself.
If she is sincere, let her recommend the interim lifting of the suspension of Kane’s law license until a new and proper investigation can be undertaken.
