PA / NJ Governors will cost states

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER Editorial:  When the scramble to obtain required health insurance kicks off in earnest this fall, the question for thousands of Pennsylvanians and New Jerseyans will be whether their elected leaders, by bucking Obamacare, have made it that much harder for them to stay healthy.

On two fronts, Govs. Corbett and Christie have yet to take advantage of key provisions of the Affordable Care Act – President Obama’s landmark health-care reform that seeks to cover some 30 million Americans now going without insurance.

Citing costs to state taxpayers, both governors so far have rejected the sensible option to establish a state-run online health insurance marketplace, where consumers would best be able to shop for affordable, quality coverage…  (more)
