NewsLanc received the following message from a source we deem reliable:
“Tom Beckett, the financial advisor for the convention center, has publicly stated several times the convention center will not be profitable and is projected to have a net operating loss of about a million dollars a year.”
The Intelligencer Journal New Era apparently overlooked mentioning this in their puff piece “Looking back at Lancaster County Convention Center’s first year” .
They also failed to speak to any Lancaster County hotelier, you know – the folks that pay for this boondoggle, to see if they are happy with the center and to see if they feel the tax was a good idea.
