Oklahoma mom sentenced to 12 years in prison for selling $31 worth of pot is released early

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS:   Patricia Spottedcrow sold a cop $31 worth of marijuana in 2010. Her case got national attention after a local newspaper report last year examined Oklahoma’s harsh treatment of first-time offenders and its status as the top jailer of women in the U.S.

An Oklahoma woman who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for selling a small bag of pot to an undercover cop was released early Thursday after serving two years.

Patricia Spottedcrow, a mother of four from Kingfisher, north of Oklahoma City, captured national attention after her harsh punishment became of the subject of a Tulsa World investigative report last year.   (more)

EDITOR: There are thousands of such atrocities under the War on Drugs.  This one happened to garner the headlines. 

 The more prisoners, the more justification for prisons and a bloated  criminal justice system.

Of course, she is African-American.  Although Whites violate the law in greater proportion, they are less likely to be prosecuted and, when are, sentenced to prison time.
