           LETTER FROM TEMPLE FACULTY, CURFEW ACTION AT CITY COUNCIL, CONVENTION BUZZ 

DAY 15 – Internet buzz over the possibility of a national Occupation of Philadelphia put a spotlight on OccupyPhilly. Local participants welcomed the concept as they entered their second week of the entrenched protest.

Today an OccupyPhilly group will protest the curfew law in Philadelphia during a City Council Meeting at 10:00AM. Temple University Faculty sent a letter of solidarity with Occupy Wall St and Occupy Philly. https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=129694050466804 Temple students are planning to join OccupyPhilly on Friday with a swelling crowd on the march to Rep. Eric Cantor’s speech. 

Yesterday: Rain fell most of the day on the hundreds of tents as the General Assembly convened in the Friend’s Center. Donations of tarps, sheltering material and blankets were put to the test. The Occupy Philly Food team served up hot soup as comfort. Philadelphia Deputy Mayor Rich Negrin stopped by camp with the weekly Civil Affairs walk-through.
