NPR series on role of bail bondsman in filling prisons

Feeling pretty good about my annual donation to National Public Radio as reporter Laura Sullivan has researched and reported the complicated (and sometimes truly nafarious) role bail and bail bondsman play in filling America’s jails and prisons to the tune of over 2.3 million incarcerated.

Her three part series is an extraordinary peek into the role of bail and the clear self-interest created for moneymaking and perversing local criminal justice systems.

Ms. Sullivan’s very compelling and informative series can be read and listened to here.
