New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said Sunday that he has “no regrets” about his decision to order mandatory evacuations ahead of Hurricane Irene, which packed less of a punch than feared as it battered the East Coast.
“The best way to ensure there is no loss of life on the New Jersey coast was for there to be no human life on the New Jersey coast,” Christie told CBS News.
“I have no regrets about it at all. My first and most important job as governor is to protect the lives of the citizens of this state, and so I have no regrets at all moving those folks,” he added…
