Columnist Paul Krugman’s “What didn’t happen” explains “The Obama administration’s troubles are the result not of excessive ambition, but of policy and political misjudgments. The stimulus was too small; policy toward the banks wasn’t tough enough; and Mr. Obama didn’t do what Ronald Reagan, who also faced a poor economy early in his administration, did — namely, shelter himself from criticism with a narrative that placed the blame on previous administrations…”

WATCHDOG: A wag of the tail. The article deserves a careful and thoughtful read. Better to get the message from a Nobel Prize winner than an old dog.

  1. Talk about revisionist history! Obama didn’t “…shelter himself from criticism with a narrative that placed the blame on previous administrations…” ????? Are you kidding me???? That’s all we’ve heard from him for the last year!!!

The stimulus was too small????? Most of it hasn’t been spent yet!!!! And now you’re saying we need more?!?!?!?! Come on.

And in response to Mr. Krugman’s comments, I would not evaluate the Obama administration’s troubles as the result of excessive ambition OR policy and political misjusdgments. I would evaluate it as a failed example of attempted socialism. The people have spoken, and will most likely continue to speak later this year. The 2008 election results were far more a Bush backlash than they were a democrat/socialist mandate as the Pelosi/Reid/MoveOn left would have you believe. Too many of the electorate were fooled by Obama’s soaring rhetoric and phony centrist-sounding promises; no one should be surprised that he has turned out to be the socialist he’s always been.
