New Ukraine clashes shatter shaky truce

USA TODAY: Fierce clashes between police and protesters in Ukraine’s capital erupted again Thursday with at least 11 people reported killed after a truce between the government and the opposition dissolved.

Protestors hurled rocks and petrol bombs at riot police, and gunshots were heard and armed government-hired thugs or “titushki” have amassed close to the protest, witnesses reported.

Oleh Hrynyshevskiy, a surgeon, was helping the wounded protesters in a first aid post in the hall of the capital’s central post office on Independence Square seized Wednesday and reported that seven protesters had died… (more)
