An editorial headed “State’s flawed table-games law”, objects to the new legislature as follows:
“For one, the bill allows casinos to give quick and easy lines of credit to gamblers. This predatory tactic will result in higher rates of gambling addiction, as well as more people being pushed deep into debt, [Paul Boni of Casino Free Philadelphia] warns.”
WATCHDOG: A wag of the tail. The law doesn’t permit bars to serve a customer all the alcoholic beverages he or she wants; why should casinos be allowed to offer credit? Easy credit is especially dangerous for Pennsylvania which is providing casinos throughout the state, unlike Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Reno which are destinations. We are bringing temptation into people’s back yards!
