The May 7th article: “Neighbors’ Concerns” states: “The attorney for residents who oppose construction of a new Norfolk Southern freight rail yard on top of a restored dump site in Manheim Township is concerned and angry….The New Era has reviewed these materials and discussed four of Cluck’s concerns with local, state and federal officials. Findings have been mixed.”
WATCHDOG: Representatives of TRRAAC have written that almost two days of meetings took place with the New Era reporter including a couple of hours of discussion with TRRAAC attorney Bill Cluck. But while the issue was still up in the air, the New Era declined to report the information supplied to it.
Now when it appears the project will move ahead, the issues are discussed at length. We wonder if the New Era will feel emboldened enough to publish TRRAAC’s comments on the delayed New Era article. The public is entitled to the facts and, having gotten his way, John Fry, President of Franklin & Marshall College, probably won’t make much of a fuss to the publisher.
