NEW ERA

Editorial “Nuclear power still vital for U.S.” opines:  “…Skeptics also should keep in mind that renewable energy sources – wind, sun, hydro and geothermal heat – will not satisfy America’s energy needs alone. Coal and natural gas have been, and should remain, a vital part of our energy strategy….

“Nuclear power plants, properly operated, do far less damage to the world than the oil and coal industries. Remember the Gulf oil spill? The mining disaster in West Virginia?

“Given the world’s fast-growing energy needs, it’s difficult to conceive of an overall energy strategy that does not include nuclear power.”
