Where did you get your statistics of 20,000 girls and 10,000 boys from? If they are correct and from a legitimate resource, then assuming the 2010 census puts Lancaster County at 550,000 people, that comes out to 5.4% of the total population of the County. That is not too patently absurd to believe, my friend.
EDITORS: We incorrectly assumed that 40% of Lancaster’s population are eighteen or younger. According to a 2010 federal estimate, the figure nationally from birth to 19 is about 20% of the population. So figure 100,000 children in Lancaster county of which 10,00 girls (1 in 5) and 5,000 boys ( 1 in 10) would be victims of sexual abuse. Unfortunately we would need about two Clipper Stadiums to simply seat the abusers, let alone incarcerate them.
