HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS: Mitt Romney hasn’t clinched the nomination for 2012 GOP presidential candidate, but conservative media outlet National Journal has named U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., as one of his “plausible alternative” running mates.
The National Journal writes: “We left Toomey off our first list, but in the intervening weeks he’s getting a little buzz, and a bit of a push from certain circles on Capitol Hill.”…
Toomey, a Lehigh Valley lawmaker buoyed by the tea party to win in 2010, has steered a conservative agenda since arriving in Washington. Toomey authored three bills in the bipartisan JOBS Act, which the U.S. House of Representatives passed Thursday… (more)
