N. H. House of Representative passes marijuana legalization bill

MPP: The New Hampshire House of Representatives just became the first legislative chamber in U.S. history to vote in support of ending marijuana prohibition!

By a vote of 170-162, it approved HB 492, which would legalize marijuana for adults in the “Live Free or Die” state and establish a system in which it is regulated similarly to alcohol. The measure will now be referred to a committee to review the revenue aspects of the bill, after which it will return to the full House for a second vote in February or March. If approved, it will then be considered by the state Senate.

MPP has played a key roll in moving the ball forward in New Hampshire, and we are going to continue lobbying hard in support of this historic legislation. Polls show 60% of voters in the state support HB 492, and we won’t rest until that includes a majority of their state legislators.
