Moscow tested as Abkhazian president flees amid protests

FINANCIAL TIMES: A spasm of political upheaval in Abkhazia has forced Moscow to shift its attention from the Ukraine crisis to the Caucasus statelet it has kept afloat since the 2008 Georgia war.

Thousands gathered in the centre of the Abkhazian capital Sukhumi on Tuesday protesting against corruption and economic stagnation. They later stormed and occupied the presidential administration and the state television building, according to eyewitnesses…
