Midstsate housing sales surge, but prices still drop

Patriot-News.com:  “Midstate home sales are picking up, but the value of homes sold in the area continues to show a slight decline compared with a year ago, according to Central Penn Multi-List figures released Thursday.

The number of homes sold throughout Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry and northern York counties surged 31 percent in the last three months of 2009 compared with the same period in 2008.

Home sales for the year were up 2 percent compared with 2008, according to figures from the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors. The annual increase was the first since 2006.”
