As you failed to mention in your editorial “Re-Elect Rick Gray”, the other candidate has a first name. It’s Charlie as in ‘Charlie Smithgall’. Or better yet, like in ‘former mayor Charlie Smithgall.’
We did like one part of the editorial: “Smithgall was active in pursuing state and federal grants, so much so that the late Sen. Arlen Specter referred to him as the “earmark king” — a moniker Smithgall embraced.”
Contrast that with the quote from Rick Gray at last week’s debate: “Going to Harrisburg and Washington right now is like talking to the door.”
Unlike his professorial opponent, with his head in the clouds and captive to his own staff, Smithgall still has some ‘p—s and vinegar’ left in him, ready to lead, and once again to go to bat for Lancaster.
