The 2011 / 2012 J. P. McCaskey #1 team started by going undefeated in the Pittsburgh statewide invitational tournament, earning fourth place.
They then went undefeated at the University of Pennsylvania statewide invitational tournament, finishing second. There were 26 teams. Team #1 beat the team that placed first at the U Pitt tournament (Central) and finished behind the state champions back to back weekends.
McCaskey defeated Conestoga Valley at Wednesday’s district final, with McCaskey’s Candy Thomas chosen as Best Witness and Sam Weaver as best attorney.
The next challenge will be a contest with a York team for the Regional semi-final which will be held in Lancaster, date and time not yet announced.
McCaskey’s talented Team #2 competed well against McCaskey’s Team #1 in the District semi final. (One can only imagine the horror of the First Team had the Second Team won!)
The Mock Trial team is coached by faculty member Kevin Webster who is assisted by Keith Moody.
