LNP violates ethics on election day
A dominant photo in the center of the front page displays a three color lawn sign for Rick Gray describing him as “Leadership with results.”
In the background and a bit out of focus is a yard sign for Charlie Smithgall, not the three color sign stating “Smithgall means progress” , but rather the two color earlier yard sign in red and white with simply his name.
We consider the front page photo to be a $20,000 advertising kiss for Rick Gray. It must be good for a couple of hundred votes.
Shame on the Lancaster Newspapers, Inc.
If it wasn’t the intent of the publication, the new management should fire whoever was responsible for such a violation of election day ethics. If it was its intention, they have learned nothing over the years.
The only way to hold the monopoly LNP accountable is for advertisers and subscribers to cancel. LNP is the proverbial tail that wags the dog, and they will always make sure that their finanical interests are first and foremost in any thing they do….readers and advertisers be damned.
Anyone influenced by whether an election sign is more visible than another on a newspaper photograph shouldn’t vote.
