Liquor Control Board calls consumer-friendly plan ‘Convenience 2020’

PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE: …In state Liquor Control Board chief Joe Conti’s perfect world, shoppers throughout the commonwealth would be able to grab their pinot grigio, pale ale and party platters under one roof.

It’s a convenience available in many states where wine, spirits and beers are sold in supermarkets alongside aisles of frozen pizzas, fresh produce and hot deli foods.

As leases for wine and spirits stores across the state come up for renewal, the LCB is pushing to move those stores into supermarkets to make them more convenient. ….  (more)
