Light-bulb ban a ‘filament’ of Congress’ imagination

INTELLIGENCER JOURNAL /  NEW ERA Letter to the Editor:  Congratulations are in order to the do-nothing 112th Congress that really lived up to that moniker, with its deletion of the 2012 funding to enforce the energy-efficiency standards governing traditional incandescent lamps contained in the Energy Independence & Security Act of 2007, mistakenly known as the “light bulb ban.”

In an entirely political move, totally devoid of any factual basis, scientific or otherwise, our Congress members have again shown that they have an unparalleled capacity to pander to the empty-headed fringe.

There can be no question that the representatives who pushed this through had either no knowledge of the facts or, just as likely, no intention of confusing the issue with facts…  (more)
